Because some people were having problems with the new domain being forwarded and masked, I've stopped masking it. So you can still use http://boozethon4billion.com to get here, but it will just send you to the old, longer address... which is probably best for stuff like StumbleUpon and DiggIt anyway.

Also, I'm waiting on a newer, sexier, bigger tablet to use for this comic and my other comic/drawing/web stuff... I'm totally psyched. Once I get it, you shall see much more doodles in the blog as I get used to it. I love new toys.

July 22, 2008

I've done a rearranging and updating of the links page this morning to make a seperation between the bigger name webcomics and those which are personal faves which I like and which you should check out.

Most of the new ones don't have buttons for them yet, but I'll be doing that today or tomorrow. Either finding some online or making some for them if I have to. Anyway, go check it out and try looking at a few you haven't heard of before. I think they're all pretty solid.

...maybe my next update to that page will include sorting them by genre or something...

July 19, 2008

Well, I'm enjoying the new style of drawing a lot so far... and I'm drawing so much and so many different things (to get the hang of everything) that I decided to turn my blog into a sketch/doodle place. So you can click on "blog" here and on the nav bar above to get there and check out what I'm doing to give me some feedback or just take a peek at what the new comics style might be like.

But just so you know, B4B won't slow down or change styles. I might drop to two updates a week for this comic once the other one gets rolling (depending on how much work it ends up being) but I really want to keep this comic going. It's a lot of fun to draw and I've been getting some great feedback from people stumbling across it and reading it regularly.

Anyway, keep checking in for more updates both here and at the blog. I'm off to sleep so I can be up in time for work tonight.

July 14, 2008

I finally got the combination of unlaziness and money to secure a domain name for the comic. Right now its just being forwarded to this site though, so you can still use the old one, but now you can just type in boozeathon4billion.com into your browser and you'll be here in no time.

I also spent the cash to secure another domain for the new comic I'm working on. It'll be a character/plot based thing (very unlike this comic) and will definitely be put in the "slice of life" and "humor" category. I know that there are tons of comics under that header in print and on the web, but really... what isn't based on life anyway?

So as I get that site designed, the comic style and writing moving along more quickly, and stuff actually posted online, I'll give you the link and a heads up about it.

Also, this site will be going through some pretty big renovations pretty soon as well... and that damn store I keep talking about is actually in the works now. Finally. more soon... promise.

July 10, 2008

Since the project I was working with Mike on in April and May kind of fell through when he vanished from the face of the interweb, I decided to start writing a few other comic pilots which I was interested in pursuing either solo or with another artist. A few of them have blended together into something I think I would enjoy doing for an extended period and which should be easy to relate to for most people, so I'm now gonna start writing it more seriously.

Also, in preperation for that new comic I hope to have up and rockin by Winter 08, I've been practicing a completely different style and some doodles and basic drawings will soon be up in an extras part of this site within the week. So be on the lookout for that stuff. As I post it, I will update this area.

Thanks for the fanmail I've been getting lately... its great to hear from readers and I'm glad that I'm able to entertain you at least three days a week. With the start of this other comic, I will hopefully have just one or two days where I don't update a week... so that will be an interesting ride for all of us.

Anyway, I'm off to sleep before going to work tonight. Night shifts are... interesting... but I like it thus far. We'll see how long that lasts.

May 21, 2008

The drawing style I started working on in April has really become fun and a lot quicker for me as of late. At first it was taking 3+ hours to do a comic with all the background stuff, coloring, and shading, but I've trimmed it down to around 2 if I don't take a break.

Recently I started doing the text boxes by hand too... some are too big for the text, some almost too small, but I think it fits the comic more... it makes it look more seamless rather than having the text contained within a perfect bubble.

I'm still working on some new comic ideas and hope to get that comic I'm working with Mike on up and rockin by summer's end. He's been kind of sparadic in emails and posts lately though because of work, so I'm not real sure when it will see the light of day...

Which is the reason I've started writing another comic which I would not only write, but draw as well. It would be a continuous comic with characters, plot, and all that fancy stuff. So I'll keep you all updated on that in the future. For now, just enjoy the insanity of B4B and thanks for checking in, voting, stumbling/digging, etc.

April 24, 2008

I'm enjoying the new drawing style which the last few comics have been employing. I don't know what you, the readers, think though so let me know sometime. I'm pretty sure this way of doing things takes about twice as long but the finished product looks way better. But maybe its charm was in looking like shit. I don't know.

Lately most of my "comic time" has been spent writing a new series which Mike, from Lonely Fetus Comics, is drawing. He approached me about writing a light-hearted, character driven story which he could draw using a few styles he wanted to mess with, and so I've been thinking about it and writing stuff down almost non-stop since then. It is still very much in the works, but it should be online by June or July at the latest.

However, all of that has been on hold for the past few days because of kidney stone attacks. So, although the comic for friday is in the works, don't expect a gloriously aweosme one. I'm on lots of meds. Wait, maybe that means you should expect a great one...

April 14, 2008

I added the "reddit" link for all the comics that have the comment area on them so far (which is basically from late february through the current comic). So just click, sign in (or register), fill in the rest of that form, and submit. Easy as pie. Keep coming back, sharing with friends, and voting for us in the comic polls!

April 10, 2008

I've been making new banners, buttons, and other sorts of ads for the Project Wonderful stuff I've been using lately. But, because I was lazy, I just hadn't put them on here as of yet... until today!

Go to the downloads page and check them out. If you have a website of your own, throw them on there and let me know that you have done so, and I'll put something up in my links page or on the side bar to the right so that people know to check your stuff out.
-Mark

April 2, 2008

I have been making some pretty big changes to the site. There are ads by Project Wonderful on pretty much every page. I've reorganized to make it a bit easier to navigate. And I think I've sped up load times a bit as well. If you're having any problems feel free to let me know asap. I'm sure there are some kinks that need working out...
-Mark

March 26, 2008

I haven't been updating this as frequently because I'm using the comment section below the comics to chat at you; this area will only be used for actual updates to the site, the comic, etc. So, I'll get to the point: I fixed the archive dropdown.

For those of you who had used it already, you know how when ya went to the archive page the dropdown had the very first comic listed everytime. That was frustrating... so I switched it around. Now it has the current comic listed on the dropdown and if you open the dropdown, you'll scroll up (instead of down) to get to past comics.

I also have been drawing freehand stuff which is in the vein of a new comic style and genre which I'm interested in pursuing. So, I'll be adding a section for my other drawings which aren't linked with this comic and aren't going to be part of the other comic once it gets started. Look out for that in the near future and have a good week... I'm off to be "productive"...
-Mark

March 6, 2008

As I promised, I'm continuing to provide you with more perks to make this new site even more user-friendly. The first of these new perks is a storyline dropdown so that you can navigate through the entire archive by title (they're usually pretty obviously linked to the comic) instead of by date or by manually scrolling through all of the comics! That should be up and working already... just check the archive page and it should be right there in plain sight.

The other news is that I'm setting aside a big chunk of time to do as many comic comments as possible. That way, as you scroll through the archive there will be a note below each. I'll use that to make remarks about the comics inspiration, how it came about, who inspired it, and to give credit to others if they provided bits of it. I'll also link to other relevant stuff as I see fit.

So, check out that stuff sometime and keep checking in. The number of people stopping in is growing at an insanely awesome rate and I want each of you to know that I really appreciate it. I hope the new comics are as awesome as I've heard the older one are and I hope that when I get some merch up, that you'll love it enough to buy it and wear it around. For now though, I'm off to study for a midterm.

March 1, 2008

Well, I said I would have the new site up and running by the end of the weekend, but since I ended up sleeping from 9pm on Friday until 530am this morning, I went ahead and finished it up early this morning and got it up and running today. A full two days ahead of schedule. Cruise around it, let me know what you think, register for an account in the new B4B Forum, and just enjoy the colored look.

Also, if you cruise through the archive, you'll notice that I've colored all the comics up until late February. I have about 6 more to do before all of them are colored in and lookin good, and there are a few I will need to touch up still, but I figured you should get the chance to see them now, along with the new site's look.

I'm off to start some homework, practice with my new Wacom Bamboo Fun Graphic Tablet, and just try to enjoy the weekend. I can't believe it's already March...
-Mark

February 29, 2008

Happy Leap Day. The new site design is almost finished; so, is should be up by Monday. However, I doubt the archive will be completely colored for a few weeks. I'm behind on school work and some stuff at my job because I was out sick most of February. But, the new comics should start being colored if not immediately, then very soon.
-Mark

February 27, 2008

No, I'm not racist... this is just a fact. And I can put this fact on the internet because not only am I dating someone who is half-mexican, but one of my best friends in the world is also half-mexican. That doesn't make them half-people as FOX NEWS would like for you to believe. It just makes them live in a closer proximity to the rest of their family, have darker skin, and be more inclined to drink shitty light beer.

The new site is coming along quite well and it should be up and running by next week. I'm over halfway through coloring the archive. And, although I haven't designed any merch yet, I've got a few good ideas jotted down somewhere in my notes for class. All of this should come to fruition soon.
-Mark

February 25, 2008

This has been a crazy weekend. On top of all the reading/homework I did (and put off), I actually was pretty productive for this site. You know those updates I mentioned last week? Well, I've already started some of them.

There is a whole new section for movie, game, and music reviews now. Just click the "reviews" link on the navigation bar to cruise that way. I also lessened the image load times so that every page should load more quickly and be more responsive in less time. I've started an online store and am working on a bunch of ideas for merch... that will probably be a ways off however, because I don't want to put half-assed stuff for sale. I want quality shit in there so that you don't get gyped and so that the comic doesn't look bad.

And, the biggest update of all, is that I've started coloring the comics! You won't see the color comics for a while however, because I'm working through all of the ones which have been posted already first and foremost. Once that's done, I'll do the other ones which haven't been posted yet. And before you actually see them on the site, I'll revamp it completely, kill the pure greyscale look for a more colorful site, and then you'll have awesome, colored comics!

Soak all of that awesomeness up now. It feels good doesn't it? Of course it does.
-Mark

February 22, 2008

I've got some pretty big updates brewing for the site. Some will be done this weekend and some throughout March/April. One involves another hobby of mine, another some big updates to the site itself, and another is just bringing new features to these regular parts of the site. Although the site is fairly new (just three months old), I've already gotten frustrated with some of the interface/usability of it. So, I'm gonna tackle it as I have time.

By the way, if you don't get today's comic, read Wednesdays. This is just a "sequel" or rebuttal of it. Not like many of my comics make a whole lot of sense anyway... lol. But this one at least has a context for voting no instead of yes.

I'm off to enjoy the weekend. By napping!
-Mark

February 20, 2008

Don't even ask what today's comic is about, because I have no idea. I just decided to draw a random comic, decided that penguins would be a good start, and went from there.

I've started advertising for this site on my radio station's webpage, The Edge KC. Those skyscraper banners are also hosted on our myspace account for download from there if you want. You can either go straight to the images or read the blog about them there, which has links to each.

The other big news is that I got the archive page up and working finally, and it is linked to from every part of the site; so enjoy that. And now, I'm off to try and get caught up on all this classwork I put off while I had the flu.
-Mark

February 17, 2008

It helps if I actually label the comics for this year instead of next...

Problem fixed. The rest of last weeks comics are up and this weeks are under construction. Sorry about the delays. I feel like an r-tard for having messed that up, but that's what I get for trying to work ahead I guess.
-Mark

Februay 6, 2008

This semester is not as easy as I thought it would be. See, I knew that my senior year would be hectic, so I made it so I wouldn't have to take more than 12 hours for my final semester at college, but I didn't realize that this would be the hardest 12 hours I would have taken thus far... so, the webcomic hasn't been as "timely" or funny as I wanted for its first few months. But, I haven't missed a day yet and I've stuck with the odd-weird humor, so its been constant at least.

In the future, and by that I probably mean this summer, I want to do short storylines and maybe move into multiframe stuff for that. I'll figure out how that will work with the site design when the time comes, but just know that I have those kind of ideas brewing and am writing them as I have them. So look forward to that. For now, however, just enjoy the babies flying to their death and I'll see you again on Friday.
-Mark

January 30, 2008

Sorry that this comic was late today, but I've been swamped with homework and plus... I fixed my old PS2 so now I'm playing a whole bunch of games I never got to play since its been broken for years. That's kinda interfered with my school work, comic stuff, sleep schedule, and other responsibilities. But the comic is finally up and rockin.

Enjoy and have a great wednesday thru friday.
-Mark

January 18, 2008

This is probably my favorite comic so far. I don't know why... the text, the huge block of cheese, his face... its all just hilarious. Hope you like it as much as I do.

-Mark

January 16, 2008

I changed the comic at the last minute because, instead of doing my homework when I should have yesterday, I slept for 5 hours. And then I was up all night doing my homework and then couldn't sleep... so I played videogames. lol. Sadly, that happens a lot.

Keep voting for the comic (the second and third links on the right side here). And if you feel like going the extra distance, check out the first and/or fourth links and join there to add me and other awesome webcomics as friends and get updates when we update. They're cool sites and it would help me get some recognition without any real work. Which is always good... I'm off to class. Thanks for dropping by.

-Mark

January 11, 2008

New comic, new versions of the banners in the downloads section, some other sweet downloads in the works, and I'm gonna plan on getting the links page up and working with all the stuff I want in there by Monday's update. It may not happen, but I'm hoping I'll get some motivation from procrastination of homework.

Also, in case you don't know this, I'll be updating the myspace with new downloads before I put them here. When I do so, there will be a blog and/or bulletin posted, so go add us there and be on the lookout. That's all for now... I'm off to enjoy this friday afternoon.

-Mark

January 8, 2008

I can't believe that it is already time for school to get going again. I really wish that break was a bit longer, but alas... it isn't. Enjoy the comics and other updates I have time for this week, and I'll be working on more downloads and comics for ya very soon. Party hearty, and don't let the "daily grind" get ya too depressed.

-Mark

January 3, 2007:

Hope you've enjoyed the most recent comics... but instead of talking about them, I'm here with bigger and better news. Yep, I got around to designing some really quick, simple banners and buttons which are up in the Downloads section for your viewing and using pleasure. Remember, there isn't any hotlinking from the comicgenesis pages though; so, put them in your photobucket, myspace, xanga, or whatever image service you're using and link from that.

I have also put our myspace info on the Contacts and Links pages. It's easy though, so I'll put it here too: www.myspace.com/boozeathon4billion. Add us, check out the blog, steal the images we host there too, and share it with friends. Thanks for the support and I'll see ya soon.

-Mark

December 28, 2007:

Another new comic... the third actually. Instead of being funny, though, it seems too true to laugh at right now. Sometimes all the holiday cheer, busy stores, and family togetherness just gets me down/depressed. Thank god(s) I'm 21, right!?

More stuff is on its way, and I'm not just talking about the next week of comics. No, I mean backgrounds, buttons, link bars, and all kinds of other goodness. Maybe I'll even finish up the other parts of the site before my break ends... thanks for sharing the site with friends, checking in regularly, and commenting. Feel free to email, post in the guestbook, and so on. And, now I'm off to get dinner with the fam before my parents snap.

-Mark

December 25, 2007:

Bah humbug and whatever other grumpy stuff I'm supposed to say when family keeps me from being "productive"... and by that, I mean, uh, interupting my videogames. I guess.

-Mark

December 21, 2007:

I've finally gotten the main part of the site up and rockin, so I think that, as long as I can get more comics made this weekend, I'll start this next week, with the first comic debuting on Christmas Eve. If it doesn't happen then, it will be the next week, on New Years Eve.

The reason I'm pushing it back some, is because in the past I've gotten really busy and haven't updated regularly, which killed my viewer rates and was frustrating for me. But, I should be fine this time around, so start spreading the good news if you're already here, and if you're reading this late, then thanks for coming by and feel free to share it with others. I'm off to work on the other pages and some more comics.

Enjoy the break.
-Mark

December 18, 2007:

This webcomic won't actually get started until either Christmas of 2007 or New Years 2008. Until then, I'm working on more comics, the website look, etc. So, as you check back inbetween now and then, you should continually see new stuff and some pretty major changes taking place. Enjoy them and I hope you are enjoying your break for the holidays (whichever ones you celebrate).

-Mark

December 9, 2007:

I've started working on comics and the new site. It will hopefully be approved by comicgenesis this week and I'll be able to start (and be about a month ahead on comics) by Christmas or New Years. Keep checking in.

-Mark
